Dear Handbell Ringer:
Bell of the Rockies, a Northern Colorado/Southern Wyoming auditioned community handbell choir, is seeking
ringers to audition for the 2010/2011 ringing season. If you are a ringer who is ready for the challenge of
ringing advanced level music and who is willing to make the commitment to weekly rehearsals and to at least
4 performances a year, the Board of Directors would invite you to consider auditioning for this choir.
For the 2010/2011 Ringing season, Bells of the Rockies will be rehearsing from 7:20 to 9:00 P.M. on
Tuesday evenings at Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor, CO. Our artistic director for the 2010/2011
ringing season will be Ron Swim from Cheyenne, WY. Ron is the Director of Music at First Methodist Church
in Cheyenne and has directed not only church choirs, but also the Kokepelli Ringers, a community choir
based in Grand Junction, CO.
Bells of the Rockies has several objectives. First and foremost, we seek to provide skilled handbell ringers
with an outlet for musical expression, a challenge and an opportunity for growth and improvement. Secondly,
this choir has a proven commitment to promoting the appreciation of the art of handbell ringing through high-
quality performances and by providing educational opportunities such as workshops and coaching sessions.
Lastly, we just like having fun! Our primary goal is to be nationally recognized for technical, musical and
artistic excellence.
Auditions are currently scheduled for the evening of Tuesday June 29th.
If you would like to be part of this great group of ringers, please consider auditioning. Audition forms can be
found on our website or can be emailed to you. If you have questions and for more information on Bells of
the Rockies you may call Ron Swim at 307-634-9361 or email: reswim@qwestoffice.net. Also, find out more
about us and the activities we’ve taken part in at our website: www.bellsoftherockiesonline.org.
We hope you will consider auditioning!
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
